This 12-day Primate and Wildlife Encounter is an immersive journey through the diverse landscapes of Uganda, offering an incredible opportunity to observe primate species such as gorillas, chimpanzees, and monkeys in their natural habitats. Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda and Transfer to the Gorilla Home town(Kisoro)

“Welcome to the 12-day Primate and Wildlife Safari! Start your adventure with a warm welcome upon your arrival in Rwanda. Your tour-friendly guide, will pick you up from the airport or your hotel and transfer you to Kisoro, Uganda. Enjoy the scenic drive through the beautiful landscapes of Rwanda and Uganda. Upon reaching Kisoro, check into your lodge and relax after your journey.”

Day 2: Coffee Tour and Canoeing on Lake Mutanda

Start your day with a fascinating coffee tour, where you’ll learn about the coffee-growing process from coffee seed to cup. Afterward, enjoy a unique canoe trekking experience on Lake Mutanda,  offering stunning views of the surrounding volcanoes and opportunities to spot various bird species. Visit icyangushu island also known as Skeleton Island to learn about mummified bodies. Finally, return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in a UNESCO World Heritage Site Bwindi

You will have an early breakfast at 6:00 am and transfer to the briefing point. With a packed lunch in your carry-on, you’ll listen to the briefing from the rangers on what to expect before commencing your trek. The ranger guides will then take you through the bush, pushing your way through the undergrowth, looking for where the family of gorillas you are tracking spent the night. When you finally locate the family that you are tracking, you’ll sit in the forest among the gorillas, watching them go about their day, and marvel at the dominant male, the silverback. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest in the knowledge that you are in the presence of the few remaining mountain gorillas in the wild. After the mandatory 1 hour is up, the rangers and guides will lead you back to the trailhead where your driver/guide will be waiting. You will receive your certificate and transfer to lodge and rest.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After having breakfast, start your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, driving through the beautiful countryside. Arrive at the park in the afternoon, check into your lodge, and take some time to relax. If time allows, you can also go for a short evening game drive to see the park’s diverse wildlife.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

Wake up early for an exciting morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, buffaloes, and other wildlife. After lunch, enjoy a leisurely boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you can observe hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and Local Banana Experience

Depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park and head to Kibale Forest National Park. Upon arrival, check into your lodge, then participate in a local banana experience. Learn about traditional banana farming practices and enjoy tasting some local banana products. Afterward, return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Nature Walk

Start your day with an exhilarating chimpanzee-tracking adventure in Kibale Forest. Follow the experienced guides as you trek through the forest to observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland, known for its rich biodiversity and birdwatching opportunities.

Day 8: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, take a scenic drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival in the afternoon, check into your lodge, and spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying the amenities of the lodge and the beautiful surroundings.

Day 9: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

Get up early for an exciting morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. Keep a lookout for lions, giraffes, elephants, and other wildlife. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls, where you can get a close-up view of the powerful waterfalls.

Day 10: Nature Walk and Hike to the Top of the Falls

In the morning, enjoy a guided nature walk to explore the park’s diverse flora and fauna. Later, embark on a hike to the top of Murchison Falls, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the falls and the surrounding landscape. Afterward, return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

Day 11: Drive to Kampala

After breakfast, leave Murchison Falls National Park and drive to Kampala, the bustling capital city of Uganda. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the city or relaxing at your hotel.

Day 12: City Tour and Transfer to Entebbe  Airport

On your last day, you will enjoy a guided city tour of Kampala. You will visit historical and cultural sites, including the Uganda Museum, Namirembe Cathedral, and the local markets. After the tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your amazing 12-day safari adventure.
