The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund opened its doors in 2022 near Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, the home of the mountain gorillas. This campus represents the realization of a 20-year dream within the Virunga Massif to construct an exceptional research and education center aimed at carrying on Dian Fossey’s legacy and advancing the vital work of safeguarding the gorillas from extinction.
The Ellen Campus welcomes visitors and offers a wide range of attractions daily. Guests can explore cutting-edge exhibits that narrate over 55 years of gorilla conservation efforts, visit the gift shop highlighting locally crafted items, have a coffee or meal at the Gorilla Café, walk through nature trails, and interact with Fossey Fund staff who have dedicated their careers to gorilla conservation.
