Depending on where the rhinos are within the sanctuary, the trek can vary in duration from a few minutes to an hour. Before starting, a ranger guide provides a comprehensive briefing on the sanctuary’s history, the rhinos, and safety protocols. Trekking through the bush, we get the chance to observe these magnificent animals in their natural habitat, a truly exhilarating experience.

As we drive, we encounter a range of wildlife. Giraffes elegantly stride through the grasslands, buffaloes gather in herds, and antelopes like Jackson’s hartebeest and Uganda kobs graze peacefully. With luck, we might spot lions lounging in the shade or stalking their prey. The park’s birdlife is also spectacular, with numerous species visible throughout the drive.

After a morning of exhilarating wildlife viewing, we return for lunch. In the afternoon, we embark on a boat safari on the River Nile. This leisurely cruise takes us along the river’s edge, where we observe hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitats. The boat continues to the base of Murchison Falls, known as the ‘Devil’s Cauldron,’ where the river forces itself through a narrow gorge with tremendous power. Day 3: Transfer to Kampala

On our final day, Kamere Tours drives us to the top of Murchison Falls. Here, the Nile’s entire volume is squeezed through a 7-meter gap, creating one of the world’s most powerful waterfalls. The sight and sound of the roaring water are awe-inspiring, and a resident rainbow often appears in the mist, adding to the scene’s beauty.

After taking in the stunning views and capturing photos, we begin our journey back to Kampala. The drive back takes us through more of Uganda’s scenic countryside, offering one last chance to enjoy the landscape and perhaps spot more wildlife.
