Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most popular park in Uganda, attracting the highest number of travelers annually. Named after Queen Elizabeth II following her visit in 1952, the park boasts a variety of habitats that support an incredible diversity of bird species, animals, insects, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals.
The park is renowned for its tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, its scenic crater lakes, forested gorges home to chimpanzees, savannah plains, swamps, rivers, and the Kazinga Channel teeming with wildlife. It also has the highest number of bird species of any protected area in East Africa. Chimpanzee tracking is available in the ‘underground’ forest of Kyambura Gorge and the nearby Kalinzu Forest.

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
We depart early for Queen Elizabeth National Park, often referred to as the medley of wonders, located in southwestern Uganda. This journey offers a glimpse into Uganda’s rural landscapes and communities. Along the way, we’ll pass through agricultural fields, bustling roadside markets, and villages where locals go about their daily lives.
Our first stop is the Equator monument, where you can experience standing in both the Southern and Northern Hemispheres simultaneously. Lunch will be at the Igongo Cultural Museum, a center dedicated to the culture of the Ankole people.
Alternatively, you can opt for a flight to Mweya Airstrip, significantly reducing transit time. This option provides an opportunity for an afternoon boat safari or a community tour upon arrival.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Safari on Kazinga Channel
Our day starts early with a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, renowned for its high biodiversity. Accompanied by a Kamere Tours guide, we’ll search for predators and grazers such as lions, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes.
After returning to the lodge for lunch, or enjoying a picnic lunch in the park, we’ll embark on a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. This channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George, offers superb opportunities to observe hippos, buffaloes, elephants, and a variety of bird species up close, making it a paradise for wildlife photography.

Day 3: Travel Back to Kampala/Entebbe
Our memorable wildlife safari concludes today. We will leave for Kampala after breakfast, enjoying a scenic drive through the countryside. Lunch will be en route, and we will proceed to your hotel or the airport in Kampala/Entebbe.
